Orange Book is a crowdsourced Hermès purchase intelligence platform. We respect your privacy. Here is how we handle data.
Cookie usage
This site uses two cookies: (1) an authentication cookie (__session), set by our identity provider Clerk to maintain your sign-in state; and (2) a display preference cookie (__ob_user), which stores your username to speed up page rendering. These cookies are used only for essential functionality and do not track your browsing behavior. Our analytics tools (Plausible and PostHog) operate in cookieless mode.
Browser Local Storage
We use browser localStorage to store: language preference and UI interaction state (e.g. whether a prompt has been dismissed). This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
Anonymous Analytics
We use Plausible and PostHog to collect anonymous page view and interaction statistics. These tools use no cookies, do not track IP addresses, and do not build personal profiles.
Data Source
Reports on Orange Book come partly from direct user submissions and partly from public community discussions online. All content is anonymized and retained only as aggregated statistics — we do not keep submitters' or original authors' personal identity information.
Removal Requests
If you recognize a report as one you posted and would like it taken down, please email privacy@orangebook.app with the original link or any identifying clue, and we will review and remove it promptly.
